This sale is for a stunning white/ivory lacquered cabinet with one double cupboard at the front and one single cupboard on each side, there are shelves in the cupboards and the sideboard comes complete with brass handles. This beautiful cabinet has oriental scenes painted in gold and silver and the figures are crafted on using mother of pearl giving a 3d effect. The cabinet measures 43 inches wide x 14 inches deep x 35 inches tall.

For thousands of year’s lacquered furniture has been part of the oriental culture. The skill and techniques of making this beautiful furniture has been handed down from many generations. After the first coat has been applied, the craftsman then paints the fine artistry and decoration by hand. The furniture is then treated to several layers of natural lacquer. Mother of pearl is then crafted onto the furniture giving a 3d effect. A final coat of lacquer is then applied resulting in a truly stunning work of art.
